Mazda is an educator. He's an author,

a journalist, and he recently returned from Iran. Mazda, welcome to the Socialist Program.

Thank you, Brian. Thank you for having me on this program.

Well, I wanted to talk to you, Mazda, because I had an opportunity to have a brief conversation with you

when you got back from Iran, which was in mid-October of this year, and you had been there not quite a month,

but for many weeks. And of course, you're from Iran, so you know the society. And when I was talking to you

and asking you about the protests against the hijab, the protests that were described as a revolution,

perhaps, against the Islamic Republic, and certainly a movement led by young women, this was the dominant narrative in the media. And you have been in Iran
