The U.S. mainstream media, that is the capitalist-owned media, has gone all out to support

and sympathize with protests that have taken place in China in recent days.

Their hostility, meaning the U.S. media hostility to the Chinese government is very evident.

Today we'll talk about the myths and facts about the protests in China.

We need a new system. We need a new society. We need to demand that which may have sounded

Today we're talking again with Ting's Chak. She's in Beijing. Tings is a researcher at

the Tri-Continental Institute for Social Research. She's a member of the Dongshang News

Collective and she's the author of the pamphlet, Serve the People, the Eradication of Extreme P extreme poverty in China.

I know the time difference is such that it must be very, very late where you are.

We really appreciate your joining the show.

The U.S. media, as I mentioned in the introduction, is breathlessly reporting that a mass movement is sweeping through China, and it's clear from the prominence and the dominance

of the headlines and the stories in the mainstream media. I'm talking about banner headlines,

front page news,

Washington Post, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, that the U.S. media, very political media,

is excited about the protests. I mean, that's important because, you know, we've been involved in lots of protests here in the United States. We rarely get any sympathetic coverage by these same media,

but they're very, very, very excited and sympathetic to the protests in China.

And as I mentioned, the coverage is also extremely hostile.
