Markets have risen worldwide after yesterday's dramatic drops.

Most Asian stock indexes closed higher, including Japan and South Korea,

while many European markets opened higher.

And US futures were looking better ahead of the bell.

But with uncertainty still swirling about President Donald Trump's tariffs, is there more drama to come? And ultimately,

what could this mean for the economy? That's what we asked CNN's Anna Kuban.

Well, Joe, you're right. Markets do look more cheerful today. But let's just put this into

perspective.

Fears around tariffs aren't going anywhere just yet. Trump is yet to implement many of his new

reciprocal tariffs on other countries. So that means that there's plenty of time for those

countries to negotiate with the US to try and bring those tariffs down. But there's also plenty of

time for retaliation, which we've already had from China,

for example. All of the uncertainty and the potential for the cost of foreign goods in the US to

rise is likely to have a negative impact on the US economy. Businesses may, for instance,

hold off on hiring new workers or making investments because they may just simply not know

how much they're going to be spending on imports
