Hey everyone it's David Plough. Welcome to Campaign HQ. We're going to go deep into Iowa this week. Before we do that, though, we're obviously

still living in a political world dominated by impeachment. What's interesting to me is the more serious this becomes and obviously we're

getting witness after witness that suggests that high crimes and misdemeanors

were likely committed but it seems like the Republican Party is just digging in further and further.

So it almost seems like the evidence is immaterial.

I think it's very important though because I think one of the challenges right now

you see some polling out there particularly in the battleground states and I think it's a really

another good example of the presidential election is not a national election. If we care about

who's going to be the next president, all that matters is the five, six, seven states

that will truly be competitive. And for the first time this week we're starting to

see deeper polling in these states

about how people view impeachment and you know the numbers are different there

than they are nationally there's less overall support both for the inquiry and for

impeachment and I think what's really important right now is I think in many respects this has been conflated

But I think we need to do all we can to educate

Voters if you're progressive that that this in bounds, that ultimately whether Trump is impeached or not or convicted or whatever you may think about that as a citizen, this is in bounds.

And so I think that obviously I think the House of Representatives on the Democratic

side are doing a very good job of finding witnesses. But I think there's going to be like a real effort

to make sure that that voters see this in bounds because if they see it's out of

bounds this close to a general election I do think that it's going to make you

know the election more challenging you know I think in the presidential, obviously the candidates are on our side,

continue to raise a lot of money campaign, but I think the campaign really starts a new phase with the big
