Mayo, I have a really frustrating bug on my Mac and messages that only happens when I'm texting you.

Oh, what have I done?

So I'm a big focus mode user.

Like basically my Mac and my iPhone are both always in focus modes.

From like I think it's 8 a.m. to 5 or 6 p.m. I'm in my quote-unquote work focus mode.

And I have select contacts that are able to break through and like the notifications always appear.

And that's like you, our coworkers, Emily, and a couple other people.

Or at least theoretically, it's you.

Because lately, anytime or almost any time you message me,

it just goes straight to notification center.

I never see a pop-up.

Wow.

But it does show as a normal notification on my iPhone,

which I have sitting next to my Mac.

So focus mode, the whole system is kind of, no, no, janky, if that's the right word.

Convaluted.

Yeah.

So I go into system settings, and I go to the focus mode menu.

I click work.

And there I see my allowed people. The first time I did this when messages from you weren't appearing, I had four different versions of your contact in there.

For whatever reason, it was literally Benjamin, Benjamin, Benjamin, Benjamin, Benjamin, Zach. Okay.

So I removed all of them, re-added it, started working just fine. Then it stopped again. So I go in. I have one version of your contact. So I say, okay, I'm just going to add all of them back all four of them. Then it starts working again. Then it stops working. Then I go back into focus mode. Then I'm just showing one version of your contacts. So I'm like, okay, maybe it properly like merge them all together. Nothing. Go into the contacts app. Try to like put like your I message and your phone number. Put it all into one contact to get it cleaned up. It eventually splits back up, stops working again.
