Apple's deal with Google to use Gemini models to power Siri is official.

So this is the thing that Bloomberg's smart garment has reported on extensively over like the past year at this point.

But Apple and Google made it official on Monday in a statement.

So the inside baseball thing here that I think is weird is they gave, Apple gave a statement to CNBC, and it was only a couple of sentences.

Then maybe about an hour later, I think, Google posted its own or posted a separate statement on Twitter attributed to a joint statement from Apple and Google.

So the first version of the statement we got from CNBC, I don't think was very helpful,

like didn't really say much.

And at least what we got the joint statement from Google and Apple was a little bit more helpful.

So they said, the CNBC statement was fine because if you've been following the news, you know, Goerman's correct, right? And it's like, this is just cited in the dotted the dotted line of everything we've been hearing for the last six months. The joint statement that they posted, which for a joint statement only got posted on Google's blog on Apple's, at least gave a little bit more color. So the full statement, the joint statement, only got posted on Google's blog or not Apple's. Yeah.

Apple and Google have entered into a multi-year collaboration under which the next generation of Apple Foundation models

will be based on Google's Gemini models and cloud technology.

These models will help power future Apple intelligence

features, including a more personalized Siri coming this year. After careful evaluation,

Apple determined that Google's AI technology provides the most capable foundation for Apple

Foundation models and is excited about the innovative new experiences it will unlock

for Apple users.

Apple Intelligence will continue to run on Apple devices and private cloud compute while

maintaining Apple's industry-leading privacy standards.

So what is there specifically that you think we should unpack from just the initial statement?

So I think it's interesting that they say, they don't just say like, oh, Gemini is going to be used for Siri.
