The psychology of investing is really driven by two fundamental things. Fear and greed. Humans are naturally born to be bad at investing. We are psychologically born to mimic what other people do,

take our cues from what we see around us.

We respond much stronger in the short term

to fear than we do to anything else. This is why for most people the standard advice of

dollar cost average into index funds over a period of years works so well because it takes the psychology out of the equation.

Brian Ferraldi is a financial content creator and author who has written more than 3,000 articles

covering personal finance, investing in stocks.

After spending countless hours educating himself with all of the materials he could find,

Brian realized that his true purpose was to become a financial educator. The U.S. stock market is essentially a
