So let's do like a teeny tiny three-minute interview you cool. Yeah, let's go for it

All right, and um, we're gonna do a throwback another round question to start this interview

Which is what do you do and why I am a writer here at Buzzfeed I

I write lists, but I also sometimes write essays and

social news stories about being Muslim in America and

Before I was here, I was in grad school studying American Muslims

So that's been something that I have been interested in for my whole life because

my family always

Sort of I don't know they were also kind of obsessed with American Muslims

I guess and thinking about like how to build the community they're a real

Community activist types especially my mother

Who was also had the double thing of being a Muslim woman. So she also had this extra thing of people

Not understanding why she was such an outspoken woman and she is she's like a big inspiration for me

um, I feel like I mean she she passed away a couple years

back and basically like I feel like I started writing after she passed away
