Summary

What's this? A new podcast? You bet.

Performance Process is a new podcast from Escape Collective exclusively for Escape Collective members. Ronan Mc Laughlin and Caley Fretz, the podcast was born from a simple idea: the best performances don’t just happen, they are the result of a combination of processes.

Be that training, testing, coaching, or the latest science, we will be joined by a new guest each episode to delve into the processes that produce performances with the people who understand them best.

If you enjoy maximising your own performance, this is definitely a podcast for you. Likewise, if you want to make sense of the latest performance innovations or how the best riders keep getting better, Performance Process is the podcast with the answers.

The first episode will drop next week, and we'll publish a new episode every other week.

If you're already a member, you'll receive an email with instructions for accessing episodes of Performance Process. If you're not a member yet, head to Escapecollective.com/join to fix that right up.

Welcome everybody to a brand new podcast from Escape Collective. I'm Kayle Fritz. I'm here with Ronan McLaughlin and we're going to tell you a little bit about it. This is the full episode. This is just a little pilot. The podcast is called Performance Process and well Ronan what is it how many times we heard

0:26.9

pros tell us that you know they're sticking to the process or taking it day by

0:30.4

day or one kilometer at a time whatever it might be.

0:34.0

Basically what we continually hear is that the best performances don't just

0:37.4

happen. They're all built on a series of processes and lots of smaller

0:42.0

focus processes that come together to make some of the best performances that we see and you know that those processes could be the process of training for a goal or the process of optimizing entire bike for a specific event.

0:55.4

Could be arrow testing, could be altitude training,

0:57.4

could be heat training, could be anything.

0:59.5

Bike fit, power, lactate, glucose, whatever it might be.

1:03.2

Basically every other week we're going to delve into one of these processes

1:07.2

to build out our process of going faster.

1:10.3

We do have a whole list of episodes already planned out, but kind of the beauty about this is that we probably don't yet know most of the things we're going to be talking about

1:23.7

and we're going to delve into those with experts from whatever field we

1:28.4

topic we might be discussing.

1:30.1

Why are we doing this now? I think for me personally it started like way back in

1:34.0

I think it was like 2006 or 2007 I have a document somewhere on a hard drive

1:39.2

somewhere that's titled 101% and I was kind of as far back as back then I was sort of always fascinated

1:45.9

with how I could improve my own performances and how I can get the most of my own performances.

1:52.6

And thanks to this sort of great job that I have now,

1:56.2

I have a unique position where I can actually access

1:58.3

some of the best minds in the sport

2:01.2

and sort of get their take on on these different processes how to implement
