0:12.4	those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. I'm Virginia Allen, and
0:18.7	today it's Memorial Day, and I'm honored to be sitting down with a veteran who is dedicating
0:24.4	his time to serve other veterans, coming alongside them to prevent veterans suicide. Jim
0:32.0	Lorraine is an Air Force combat veteran. He served as the founding director of the United
0:38.2	States Special Operations Command Care Coalition and a special assistant for warrior and family
0:45.4	support to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. And today, Jim is president of America's
0:52.2	Warrior Partnership. Jim, thanks for being with us today. Virginia, thank you for having
0:56.7	us. I really appreciate it. Well, Jim, you are a veteran, and first I just want to thank you
1:02.2	for your service. How long did you serve? I served 22 years, a couple of years in the reserves,
1:08.8	and then the rest of my time in active duty, and all both in the Air Force. Yeah, it was an Air Force
1:14.8	nurse corps officer. Wow. I'm a nurse by trade. And during your time in the Air Force, where
1:23.5	all were you stationed? I started out in Balexi, Mississippi, so they took this kid out of Central
1:28.6	New York, who had never been south of Washington, DC, and sent me to Balexi, Mississippi, and I spent
1:36.8	a few years there, and then I went to from there to Frankfurt, Germany, and had one of the best
1:43.0	assignments in my life. I flew Air Medical Evacuation all around the Europe, North Africa,
1:51.2	the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. And then from there, I went to another unit that flew
1:59.4	Air Medical Evacuation, flew patients out of combat zones. I ended up, it was based out of
2:04.4	a Pope Air Force base. I ended up in Mogadishu, Haiti, Desert Shield Storm, lots of things,
2:12.5	lots of deployment. And then from there, I went to run Air Medical Evacuation around the country,
2:22.4	around the world, and lived in St. Louis, Illinois. From there, I went to the Pentagon,
2:29.6	I served as a fellow to the chairman of the Joint Staff, and then my final assignment was as
