I'm your Cult Leader Spencer Henry, and today we have a very special guest who I will introduce

to you guys in just a moment.

But first I wanted to talk about how we got here, how this episode came to be.

For this show, I'm obviously constantly researching cults, and I think we can all agree

that most cultists, cult leaders, cults stem from some type of organized religion.

We've lightly discussed in the past what separates organized religions from a cult, but

one question that I've really pondered recently is why are some religions considered

cultier than others?

As somebody who grew up with no sense of religion, I feel like I hear bits and pieces of some

belief systems, and I'm like, oh, you know, that's cool, that kind of makes sense, or

is good values, or that's super fucked up.

And in recent months, faith healing has been a huge topic of discussion on cult leader,
