If you're at the beaches, check the local advisories about water quality. In addition to the ones

listed under various state news, there are warnings in Illinois, Michigan, and New York. There's probably more.

Also, schools nationwide are struggling to figure out what to do as the Trump administration withholds

billions in congressionally approved funding. If you rely on summer programs for your kids, it might be time to check in and

see if they're still going to be running. Okay, and on to the news. California is warning people to stay

out of the water at eight of their beaches due to risk of bacteria.

Also in California, L.A. reportedly canceled a number of Independence Day celebrations

out of fear of immigration authorities.

Still in California, the Madre fire has grown massively in size

and is now the biggest fire of the year. In Kentucky, a state where hundreds of thousands rely on

Snap, the head of God's pantry is deeply disappointed with the passage of Trump's agenda.

In Iowa, Trump used a term that is widely seen as anti-Semitic in a speech.

I'm not sure if I can actually use the term here, but think Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice.

In Missouri, the state is warning of extremely high levels of e-coli in the waters of some of their beaches. If you're headed to

Lake of the Ozark State Park Public Beach No. 1 in Kaiser, Trail of Teiers State Park in Jackson, Harry S. Truman State Park in Warsaw,

or Wakanda State Park in LaGrange. You want to get more information before getting into the water.

Montana officials went to the Supreme Court to try to get a law that required parental consent for an abortion revived after the state Supreme Court struck the law down because it violated protected rights of minors.

The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear it.
