Well, howdy there, internet people. It's Dee again, and welcome to the Interstate with D.

Today is Saturday, June 14th, 2025. Welcome back to our trip on the interstate.

It'll be a short one today because I feel like a lot of you have other things going on.

But what we do here is present news from the state level

that will end up having national importance later or news that made it into the national

news cycle but was overshadowed. Then we go over some questions from y'all. On this date, June 14th

in 1775, the Continental Army was formed. This gives the U.S. Army its birthday.

So let's start by saying, buckle up. There are demonstrations scheduled for today in every state.

There are more than 2,000 events scheduled across the country.

Okay, and on to the news.

Alabama is seeing Fort Rucker return, but it won't be named for the Confederate.

The military installation near Dothan will now be named for Captain Edward W. Rucker, a World War I pilot.

Families in Arkansas are suing to block the forced introduction of the Ten Commandments into public schools and libraries.

California Senator Padilla was forcibly removed from a news conference for the Homeland Security Secretary.

It was a giant mess. He was cuffed up in everything. After a brief time, he was released, and reporting says that he got his meeting with Nome.

In a separate incident, a California representative told Secretary of Defense,

Hegsseth, he should resign and let somebody competent run the Defense Department.

It got pretty heated.

Representative Carbohal at one told Hegsseth, quote,

You're an embarrassment to this country. Georgia officials are warning their citizens to keep it

peaceful today or risk a crackdown. And experts on civil disturbance all over the world groaned their disapproval.

In Illinois, more than a dozen businesses have announced layoffs that will take effect over the summer.
