I'm Susie Larson, so honored to have you listening today.

In fact, I look forward to bringing you conversations every single day that inspire you in your faith walk,

that deepen your understanding of God's Word, and that heighten your awareness of God's very real presence in your life. And here on middays, we talk about issues that ignite your faith,

that deepen your understanding of God's heart for you and his heart for the world. Today may be a

tough show for some, but I'm praying you'll hang in there with us because it's an important,

important topic. If you've listened to me on the radio over the years, you know I've talked about

this topic. Actually, I try to do it two, three times a year just to keep it in front of us.

Many people think that slavery ended hundreds of years ago when in fact there are more slaves

today than ever before. Slavery is a multi-billion dollar industry. It's driven by greed,

and often it's overlooked by local legal systems.

Slave owners steal, use, and abuse precious people, people made in God's image for the sake of profit. I want you to think about that. One of my favorite organizations in the world

is International Justice Mission. They are confronting the world's worst bullies. They're

rescuing the oppressed and they're changing local government

systems, helping them to see the value of human beings and the importance of a just system.
