Intermittent Fasting Basics:  https://www.messenger.com/t/drericberg

Dr. Berg talks about if intermittent fasting damages your adrenals. When you go from one meal to the next, if you have hypoglycemia (low blood sugars). When you're body has low blood sugar, your adrenals, and liver counter this effect and raise the glucose back up to a normal level. If your adrenals are weak, then the sugars drop too low and you can experience the effects of low blood sugars.

However, if your adrenals are strong, then you won't have low blood sugars usually when you do intermittent fasting. IF is not damaging to your adrenals, it just makes it hard to do intermittent fasting in the presence of weak adrenals in which case you need to do it more gradually, adding more fat, B vitamins, and potassium.

does Intermino fasting damage or ruin your adrenals?

0:41.0

This keeps coming up over and over, and I just want to kind of explain it.

0:45.2

When a person is doing it in a minute fasting, a lot of times it becomes very difficult to go from

0:50.3

one meal to the next without creating a crash in your blood sugars.

0:54.8

Okay? Because what happens, here you are and all of a sudden you don't eat and then your

1:00.0

blood sugars crash. Now certain people don't have that situation. They don't have a

1:04.5

propensity to get hypoglycemia and some people do and I want to talk about

1:10.1

the people that do what's really going on. Now when the blood

1:13.6

sugars go low in general there are two things that will help bring it up. They're

1:19.1

called counter-regulating hormones, okay? So like the adrenals for example, they'll kick in and bring the

1:26.5

sugar back up to prevent hypoglycemia. So if you have really, really good

adrenals, you basically you don't end up with a low blood sugar system. really good
