Welcome to this Bletchley Park, Intelligence Insight.

In this episode, we stay with the attack on the Lorentz code that Bill Tut played such an important part in

with a first-hand account.

Captain Jerry Roberts worked with Bill Tut in the testery, cracking what they called Tunney, the German High Command's

Code, used by Hitler and his top generals. Jerry tells us what it was like to work in the

testery, why breaking Tunney was so important to the ultimate Allied victory victory and of his three heroes of Bletchley Park.

Jerry's was the last of the day of talks held in 2012 as part of the celebrations of Alan Turing Centenary.

He's introduced by Lord Charles Brockett, who acted as Master of Ceremonies for the day.

Now, I first met Jerry not long after, I met up formally with Bletchley Park.

That day I was filming with my son and I thought I knew so much about the place and I realized I didn't really know much at all. As a result of that, I went to meet one or two people and we filmed

them with a company that I was working with

for a documentary.

The second person that I filmed after Mavis Beatty was Jerry.
