Intel surges on its Q2 earnings report.

Crude oil closes above $80 for the first time in months

and first solar plans to build another manufacturing facility in the US.

Here's what's making headlines today.

Intel is up more than 7% pre-market

after the semiconductor giant

posted second quarter results that topped estimates and showed signs of a recovery in the PC market.

For the period ending July 1st, Intel earned an adjusted 13 cents per share on 12.9 billion dollars in revenue, as the company's

client computing group generated 6.78 billion dollars in revenue above estimates.

A consensus of analysts expected the company to lose three cents per share on 12.14 billion dollars in revenue.

The company also generated $454 million in revenue. The company also generated $454 million in revenue attributed to Mobilei, which

had partially spun off in October of 2022.

AMD and NVIDIA shares rose in in after hours trading following the results.

Looking ahead, Intel said it expects third quarter revenue to be between 12.9 and 13.9 billion

with the midpoint above the $13.28 billion estimate.

It also expects adjusted earnings of 20 cents per share, topping the $ cent per share estimate. The California company also said

it is on track to deliver $3 billion in cost savings this year.

U.S. benchmark W.T.I. crude oil settled above the $80 a barrel marked Thursday for the first time in three months.

This was supported by supply tightness following recent production cuts from Saudi Arabia and Russia.

And the US reported its economy grew by a greater than expected 2.4% in the last quarter.
