Ready for a high-level conversation about the connection between our gut microbiome and our skin? Today Erin sits down with Dr. Julie Greenberg, ND to get DEEP into this topic, exploring the effect of western diets, key roles of specific gut bacteria, common skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis, eczema, and rosacea, the relationship of candida and other fungal problems, and yes - Botox and fillers, too.
If you’re a practitioner or clinician, or even someone who geeks out on nutrition information, you’ll want to bust out a pen and paper for some notes on this one! Dr. Greenberg delivers an outstanding, comprehensive take on this delicate connection that you’ll absolutely want to tune in for.
Dr. Greenberg is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor (ND) and Registered Herbalist RH(AHG) who specializes in integrative dermatology. She is passionate about natural skin care and believes that many of today’s chronic skin diseases can be healed by using evidence-based alternative treatments.
She uses her naturopathic training to address the root cause of dermatological disease by addressing inflammation due to gut microbiome dysfunction as well as a disrupted skin barrier. She also works with a group of integrative MD Board Certified Dermatologists through LearnSkin.com, a website for continuing dermatology medical education, where she’s the Program Chair of the Naturopathic & Integrative Dermatology Series, a 20 course AMA CE program.
*Note: this is not a starting point for you if you’re just starting out on this gut-skin connection exploration! We highly recommend listening to two previously recorded episodes about the Gut-Skin Connection - find the links in the show notes below!*
