in Elkhart, Indiana. Guys, a ton of talk about Notre Dame's independence. Part of that is because

on December 8th, James Franklin felt it was necessary to declare that a team should be mandated to be a part of a conference and should not be part of the CFP if they aren't.

I think that's a little ridiculous, and I think that led to a lot of talk today about Nordames's independence and James Franklin and Penn State's affiliation with the Big Ten.

I really appreciated that when Marcus was given a chance to rebut James Franklin's comments

about joining a conference, Franklin decided to step right back in and reiterate his strong

position on the situation.

I feel like there is a fairness to it, and there's also a unique part of what makes

college football great, is that everything is not uniform.

As Tom, the intern mentioned, there is a product out there

if you want to find it where absolutely everything is totally uniformed

and they play football at a really high level.

Franklin then went to say,

it's great that we have more teams in here and conferences from all over the country.

Okay, well, they didn't play the same conference schedules that the SEC and the Big Ten did either.

Part of college football's greatness and the joy to watch it is there is a variety.

When there's not a variety, it becomes a different product.
