This is the Guardian. In the Summer of 2018, the World Health Organization formally included gaming disorder in its diagnostic manual for the first time.

I went by my staff to research online.

I saw the WHO had set gaming disorders

as a actual mental illness and from that I found the

NHS had set up a specialist gaming and addiction clinic.

While for most gaming is a fun way to spend some time and relax,

for some it can become an all-consuming addiction.

I think previously everyone thought, oh you could just stop playing games but I guess it's similar to any other kind of addiction where you keep going even though you know you shouldn't.

Unsurprisingly, right now, it's young people who are hit the hardest.

And experts are worried that gaming companies are finding increasingly clever ways to get people hooked and paying.

As a free-to-play player you wouldn't get a lot of these skins without paying money

and it's kind of oh you can get this really cool gun but you have to

pay money for it when you go and open a game up you get a dopamine rush.

So today we're asking how do you help someone struggling with a gaming

disorder and we're hearing from someone who has been through it themselves.

Obviously I value my time I don't want to waste all my time playing games anymore because since

I was the kids I've definitely played well enough games.

The thing I come across most that it fascinates me

is that people automatically I assume I think gaming is bad

and automatically assume that I think there's an epidemic of gaming disorder and neither of those things

really are a fact.
