Once we oversimplify and reduce things, then those who disagree with us are

caricatured and demonized into just bad people.

Yeah, and it's never that simple, almost ever.

I think a Christian's duty is to bring healing to the world and to be

the hands and feet of Christ and to bring love

to our neighbor, to love our neighbor as Christ told us.

And I think a big part of that is complicating the narrative, resisting

those easy answers because I think that's a big part of loving our neighbor.

So this book taught me a lot.

It did raise a lot of questions, so I'm pumped to have you here with me.

So first, can you help people who might not be as familiar?

How would you define evangelicals?

I mean, it's a tricky, tricky question.

For a long time, evangelicals were like a hybrid.

And I would say that half of the meaning of the word was cultural political,

and half the word was more like theological.
