President Biden said Tuesday that the United States intends to withdraw completely from Afghanistan at the end of the month as planned, rebuffing police from Britain, France, and other key allies to keep troops in Kabul. Instead, Biden doubled down on an August 31st deadline, which the Taliban

warns is a red line not to be crossed without fear of consequences. The Taliban is stressing

it's time for the U.S. and its allies to pack up and get

out. Transport planes and civilian aircraft from around the world are evacuating vulnerable

Afghans. But there's a huge bottleneck at transit hubs. At the U.S. base in Doha, Qatar,

thousands are crowded in holding areas. Temperatures well over 100 degrees.

According to the New York Times,

the United States has already begun to reduce its military presence

at Hamid Karzal International Airport in Kabul,

sending about 300 of the 5,800 Marines and soldiers home

in anticipation of the conclusion of their rescue mission within a week.

I was just at the Kabul Airport yesterday and there were still huge crowds of people

streaming towards the gate talking about old women in wheelbarrows because they can't walk

and they're being pushed along, young children being carried by

their parents and just people in their droves making their way towards the gates.

Many of them, without the correct travel documentation, unable to board evacuation flights,

but some of them with permission, but still just unable to make their way through the crowds.
