The dawn, Jerry! Episode five, friend of Jerry. This is my dog, chunk right here. Chunk say hi. Say hi. It's my dog, chunk. It's the first French bulldog that I got. I got four of them now, but I wanted to tell a story

1:06.8

How much this this dog specifically means to me I was early on in sobriety and I didn't have a lot of money And I but I wanted a dog and I specifically wanted a French Bulldog so one day when I was in the mall I seen this pet store and I walked by it and then I walked in and I seen this little guy here and They they had the dog listed for $6,000 and I only had like a couple hundred bucks in my bank account and I really wanted them though. started playing around with them and I just fell in love with them right away and I knew I wanted a dog I just didn't know how I was gonna come up with the money so I went in there every day for a couple days in a row and you know they kept on asking me oh you want to buy me I'm like I don't to. I wish I could, I love the dog, I went in every day to go see him. And the lady mentioned, hey, you know, you could finance if you want. I'm like, what does that mean? I had no idea what that meant. She was like, oh, well, you can take out a loan to pay for the dog. And I'm like, oh oh really? And that's exactly what I did. Now I had no credit really at the time, but I took out a loan for the price of the dog and I think the monthly payment on it was about like $400. And it took me, I'd say a year and a half to pay off the dog and I ended up paying about I think like $11,000 in total because I just couldn't keep up with the payments they you know with the interest it was so hard but I wanted to tell the story of how me and this guy met and what he actually means to me. I got him because I was lonely and I didn't really have a lot of friends out there, so I wanted to get something that I can come home to every day. And I'll never forget, you know, me doing all this research on dogs and French bowl dogs and what they need and what they eat and stuff like that.

3:25.9

And I always wanted my dog to have the best all my dogs now to have the best life. And I'll tell you what, I specifically remember like eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches because I didn't really have money to go and out go out to eat and stuff like that. because I was buying this guy all the top of the line stuff and it was so amazing just to for the first time my life come home to something and somebody is depending on me and it was like one of the best times I ever had in my life with this guy in living in Arizona.

8:25.4

He played one of the biggest roles for me to stay sober because I knew that this guy needed me and if I went back out and I started fucking up again, you know, I wouldn't have this dog, you know. and me and him have built such a great relationship together He's a good boy. He's a dad. He's got two boys upstairs. I can't let you know people know the story of how Paulie peppers He's got a muzzle on upstairs right now Just one of his sons, but uh, yeah, I can't I can't have Paulie peppers down here Maybe I'll introduce you to my other two two Frenchies but uh definitely not poly right chunky. But uh yo I think like when people get sober and they they feel like oh like I can't I can't take care of a dog dog. This is my first priority because I'll tell you what, so many people message me and are like, hey, Jerry, I kinda can't stop using drugs or people message me like, hey, Jerry, I'm so bored. I don't know what to do, I'm clean, I'm 30, 60, 90 days clean, but I'm so bored. I don't like to play video games. I always tell them, hey, why don't you go get a dog. Even if you adopt a dog or whatever, they're such good companions and it gives you something to come home to every single day and something to play with and you know, have a good time with and you know, he relies on me so much, but he doesn't understand that, you know, for a long time. And even still to this day, you know, I relied on him because even though I would have bad days, you know, in sobriety early on, and I still have bad days, you know, but now I'm at the point where, you know, I come home and it's either this guy, my other three Frenchies, or, you know, I got my son to come home to, you know, now. And it gives me, you know, purpose. So for episode five, we wanted to switch it up a little bit, Kev had some questions for the Marty Muschvlog that he watched. He wanted to kind of get that same experience. If you haven't watched the Marty Muschvlog it's pretty much Marty and me and Marty had some questions and I took them around, showed them a couple different places where I was sleeping outside, where I got high. Some of my favorite places to actually go get a quick bite to eat. And I thought it was a really cool element for the show. And, you know, Kev was like, you know, I want to do that one day. So we felt like for episode five, you know, instead of having a guest or doing an episode, you know, by myself, Kev could come and get the whole experience. So that's pretty much what we're gonna do for episode five. We're gonna, you know, drive around for a little bit. I'll show Kev and you know, what it was like, where I was. You know, he sees kind of where I'm at now. I haven't, I haven't, you know, moved yet from my mom's basement, but, you know, I'm looking forward to it and we're gonna get into it now Okay, what up? Welcome to my crib Play pen Always got to have the love sack best thing in the room pictures French bulldogs and big French bulldog guy The best thing in the the room. It's right there. Teaching young Jerry how to be a rider early. It's the baby's room got everything I need in here for a low guy. My room's a little bit of a mess. One of my prized possessions. There he is. I keep it on display. So I tell my son I fought for professional boxing. Undefined, never lost. Want to know, always got to be stopped up. On the vapes, I always got three boxes at all times. One in the pocket. My bed, Cologne's, I got a little Cologne collection, I like collecting Cologne over there. Action figure, little kitchen area. This is a life saver right here. This is the baby brezza. You just press a button on this. It will just make you a bottle. Just one press left watch.

13:05.1

The formula is up here, the water is in the back. Close that, maybe 15 seconds. Let the water come out a little bit. I always like living in a basement. I just feel most comfortable. I got everything I need. You know, I got the baby's room, my room, bathroom, little kitchen, little fridge, shut out to dude wipes, always blessed me, got the dude wipe right here, this thing, if you, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if they actually yeah, look for, oh, oh, sorry. No Jersey Jerry, one of my things I'm big on is sleep uncomfortable comfortable. So we got to top the line mattress but the thing I'm most happy with is my bedding. Every three to six months I get new bedding always a hug always comfortable. I love it down here basement boy. All right why don't you tell him where we're heading first, Jerry? First up, we're gonna go to Chase Bank. I don't have cash on me, so we're gonna go to Chase Bank. Get some money out. I'm gonna treat you to my favorite hot dog truck place. Some dirty water dogs. It's one of my favorite spots. It's my favorite spot. I'm a big hot dog fan. Dirty water dogs. But you know I get top I'm not like Frank Tatek. I get uh I get toppings online. I like to get you know potato and cheese. Um I get hot onions. Not a big sour crunch guy but after that we are gonna go um you had some questions you know where where I was getting high at and where I was Coping my drugs at where I slept So we're gonna do like a little little kind of tour that stuff funny story Marshals right here I Pretty much Would take clothes From the marshals I would steal clothes early on when I was getting high I would steal clothes from the marshals and then go back and return them for store credit get the store credit let's say something was fifty dollars get the store credit this marshals right back there. I would get the store credit Get the store credit. Let's say something was $50 get the store credit this March right back there I would get the store credit and then I would pretty much sell the gift card for less money if I had a $50 gift card I'd sell for 30 to somebody some people might say Jersey Jerry. How does a hot dog? Keep you sober. I think a lot of people are wondering that same thing. Yeah. When you appreciate the little things in life, if I was getting high I wouldn't be able to go to the ATM and get out a couple hours to get some meat. If I was getting high I wouldn't be able to enjoy the taste of a hotdog. So when you appreciate the very very very little things in life, that keeps you sober. That keeps you sober. I appreciate the hot dog. I appreciate me being sober today and having you here and shooting this for me. If I was getting high, I wouldn't have any of that. Once you appreciate the little things in life, just having a full belly, having something to drink, because I remember there was times where I couldn't even get a can of coke if I wanted to or a can of spryder, hot dog a hot dog truck you know it gives you a different perspective now you know people complaining about you know gas $4 now just grateful that I have a car to drive to get the gas you know but yeah when you appreciate the little things it helps me at least you know Stay clean and sober Having gratitude. You like hot dogs? I do like hot dogs. I'm a hot dog guy. You like this spot my last job before Barstall was actually at a hot dog company. I see Sugar deal hot dogs. I don't know if they have them here, but big and Ohio. What did you do? You were making hot dogs? No, I was marketing. I did marketing.
