Each year, breast augmentation is the most popular cosmetic surgery for women across the country.

It's also quite possibly the most controversial.

Now, although breast augmentation has a 97% worth it rating on realself.com, there are many patients and even health care

practitioners who are concerned about their safety. Is breast implant

illness a real thing and if so how should it be treated? What about breast implant

associated a l cel or how about capsular contracture? Well on today's episode I'm

joined by one of the country's foremost experts in breast implants

and breast implant surgery. We'll get to the bottom of these issues and will reveal

some of the exciting innovations that are happening in the world of breast enhancement surgery.

Now before I introduce our guest this week I'd like to give full disclosure

about my thoughts regarding breast implants. Now I perform

about a hundred to 150 breast augmentation per year, both silicone and sailing and

this is one of the most popular operations that I perform. So do I think that

breast implant illness is real? Well for those of you who don't know breast implant

illness is a constellation of symptoms that some women have after

having breast implant surgery and it ranges from very simple like fatigue and aches to full-blown autoimmune disease.

And because of that there are a lot of websites and people online who are very anti-breast implants,

understandably when they're having these types of symptoms

and they connect it with their breast implants.
