Summary

Spiritual ascension is often talked about as a concept and experience in the spiritual community. There are many different definitions of what "ascension" means, and we each have unique experiences as we evolve and ascend spiritually.

In this episode of Inner Work, I explore:

  • how we can define spiritual ascension
  • what happens at a physical and cellular level when you "ascend" spiritually
  • the benefits and positive transformations that arise out of spiritual ascension
  • some of the potential physical symptoms of ascension, and how you can best deal with them
  • the importance of taking ownership of your healing

Above all, if you're experiencing spiritual growth and ascension symptoms, please know you're not alone, you're not crazy, and it's ok to take care of yourself right now.

0:48.4

of spiritual ascension, which is often talked about in the spiritual community. Before anything else, of course, a quick

disclaimer. This episode is not meant to treat or diagnose any illness, condition, or physical

1:13.8

So with that said, let's talk about how we might define ascension. This is really the first thing

1:19.0

I think we need to do, especially since it has been interpreted and discussed in so many

1:25.4

different ways. In my own understanding, both as a person who has experienced

1:31.3

spiritual ascension and who has witnessed other people going through it, I see ascension as a

1:38.3

process of evolution, expansion, and most importantly, a process of shedding density. And there are many different

1:47.7

types of density that you release and shed when you go through this process. So, for example,

1:55.0

the density of lower frequency thought patterns, thought patterns based on fear or worry or anger or revenge.

2:04.6

There's also the density of past life trauma and fears and wounds, which you might still

2:10.7

be carrying with you in your current lifetime.

2:14.5

There's also the density of unhealthy habits and behavior patterns, including addictions,

2:20.3

which often keep you stuck in a loop of limitation and self-sabotage and sometimes even shame.

2:30.3

There's also the density of negative attachments.

2:33.3

And these attachments can be to other people, to money, to material things, or circumstances,
