Summary

INNER REVOLUTION is a podcast series where we walk through the fire of inner transformation and awakening together.

The purpose of this series is to help you shed ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING that isn't a true reflection of Who You Really Are, so you can fully embody your Divinity, Light, and Sacred Mission.

Join me for this bonus episode, where we'll talk about:

  • do you have a tendency to take on other people's emotions, moods, beliefs, and energetic states?
  • how empaths, HSPs, and highly conscientious people tend to prioritize others' comfort and "okay-ness" over their own
  • developing inner safety and stability regardless of what (or who) is going on around you
  • letting go of the need to take responsibility for (and soothe or manage) other people's inner states
  • personal story of how growing up with very STRONG women left little room for my own emotions & moods (and how I've resolved that over time)

Hello, my friend and fellow traveler on the path. I'm your host, Josephine Hartman, and welcome to

0:10.9

this inner revolution series on my inner work, a spiritual growth podcast. Thank you so much for being here

0:20.5

and for tuning in, whether this is your first

0:23.4

time here or your 100th or 200th time listening. Your presence is so very meaningful and

0:33.6

so rewarding and just keeps me doing this work every single day.

0:40.6

So for this bonus episode of Inner Revolution, I wanted to introduce a kind of radical

0:48.5

idea. And, you know, it might not be radical to you if you've already done a whole bunch of inner work on yourself.

0:56.6

But I think for those of us who are highly sensitive people, empaths, highly conscientious, highly attuned to other people's energy, this could come across as a radical idea.

1:16.2

So the idea basically is that you are not responsible for other people's inner states.

1:26.6

And we'll just take a second to allow that to fully drop in. So you are not

1:32.9

responsible for other people's inner states. This includes other people's energies, frequencies,

1:50.0

vibrational state, vibrational set point, if we want to call it that.

2:00.5

This includes other people's emotions and emotional reactions to life and even to you directly. You are not responsible for that either. So you are not responsible for

2:07.7

other people's inner states. Now, I know for a lot of us, well, first of all, as I said,

2:15.5

a lot of us have these empathic, highly sensitive,

2:18.5

highly conscientious, very attuned to other people kinds of tendencies, which means that

2:26.1

we have spent a lot of time being really, really hyper aware, and even hypersensory, so like just feeling and knowing in our

2:38.7

bodies, what other people are experiencing, what's running through their minds, what emotions

2:45.9

they're feeling.

2:46.9

Sometimes even we might have a sense of that more clearly than other people themselves

2:55.2

because we're just so inclined with these empathic tendencies to be able to walk in someone

3:05.6

else's shoes and like really take on those feelings, thoughts,
