Seb is the author of a new book, The Light Ages, which highlights the ingenuity of science

History magazine editor, Rob Atar. So in the introduction to your book, you make the point that

medieval science is frequently disparaged nowadays. Why do you think that that is and do you feel

that that's unfair? Well, it has a long history. The disparagement of the medieval goes all the way back to

the Renaissance and particularly the Enlightenment when medieval was seen as a dark age.

So essentially, in the Renaissance, scholars were involved in trying to
