This is part two of our interview with Chad Johnson.

Let's talk a little bit about Paradise.

I know, you know, you were obviously someone who, I'm sure, was an immediate choice for the producers.

We got to have this guy on Paradise.

And that kind of extends your, you know,

extends your fame, obviously, but also kind of puts you back in that headspace. You know,

there's a couple moments. I remember, you know, for example, lace on the show. A lot of people

mentioned that one as moments where, you know, did you think she was trying to be genuine with you? Or did you think she was coming at you from like a producer's putting her up to it? Or what was your thoughts on that? I kind of had two thoughts with her, which like in one thought, I was like, oh, she knows she's crazy. And like, I like it. Like that's, we're having fun. Yeah. You know, like, okay, I like somebody that can let loose. Because in that time, again, I was, you know, drinking and being wild and stupid. And I wanted somebody that would do that with me. That was kind of like, hey, partner in idiocracy. And so that was great. You know, I actually kind of was open to that. But then in the other pocket as well, I was like, this is great.

We're going to be the whole show. Like, right? Right. Like, I was like, this is fantastic. Yeah. And I had had conversations with producers before I came in because I had the opportunity, like, should I, you know, because by the end of like the Bachelorette, I was kind to get like that's when I was getting bad bad bad bad and I talked to them like should I go back to like can I go be me or like do you want me to keep doing that you know and they were like you can dial it up if you want and I was like okay if I'm going to dial it like so this everything that happened in paradise night not not the specific things that happened but it was all like pre talked about you know it was all like hey I'm coming in and I told them I'm gonna be a a fucking nutcase first day like if this is what you want I'm going to be insane the first day and I'm going to give you previews you're going to have great preview like it was kind of strategical and I don't know if you're supposed to be that strategical but I was like you're going to have great previews for the it was kind of strategical, and I don't know if you're supposed to be that strategical. But I was like, you're going to have great previews for the show.

And so, like, let me help you, and then you help me. I'll be crazy for the first episode. You'll get your great, and trailers and previews that you're going to be able to use. And then I'll go back to being normal the second day. and then you guys like let me actually date like let me do what i want to do you know

pushing me to be that character, you know?

Yeah.

But yeah, the latest thing, I really thought we had it and we were playing the role together.

And it was like, hey, we're both going to play this role together.

And I actually kind of do really like you.

And then all of a sudden, like, just one minute, she just snapped and turned and was like, I'm not like this. I'm like, what are you talking about? Like, we were doing this for like seven hours straight. Like, we have a great time. So it was really confused. So was she just going down the rabbit hole and then change your mind or like, what do you think happened there? I think so. I think one of the girls there must have talked to or maybe it was a producer. Maybe someone was like, if you do hang out with him, you're going to look bad or something. Yeah. I don't know. But, I mean, I do know it would have been in a, like strategically to keep playing keep playing you know the stupid thing we were doing

right and just gone to bed separately and and then the next day talked and had dinner and stuff
