This is not good news.

Well, no.

I mean, you know, we're 72nd out of 100, so that doesn't sound so good.

That's where Indianapolis ranks.

According to street safety from Vision Zero, they're entering their first year.

Vision Zero is a plan to aim for zero traffic deaths and serious

injuries by 2035. They're rethinking street design policy and use. According to them,

between 2019 and 2023, more than 450 people died in traffic crashes in Indianapolis. This includes pedestrians

and cyclists who were being hit at much higher rates than their share of road use.

Okay, well, you can preach safety all you want. But when a Hoosier hits a pothole, the size of a small

car and gets trapped in poorly maintained intersections, the roads themselves are actually part of the problem.

Exactly. That's got to be a huge factor into all of this. But in addition to this, this is really just a vision zero. It's a PR campaign. There's no funding. There's no enforcement of this, of any of these

things. I mean, you might as well just put like a, you know, a baby on board sticker in the back

of your car because that's about the same level of effectiveness as Vision Zero is giving to us.
