Hi, I'm Rachel Bernstein. I'm an educator and licensed marriage and family therapist, and I'm also known as a cult expert, and I've worked with victims of cults and high control groups for over 30 years. I was personally drawn to this work after a family member was indoctrinated into Scientology,

and I've been studying cultic dynamics ever since.

I currently serve on the advisory board of the International Cultic Studies Association

and have worked with the Department of Justice providing therapy to cult victims who testify against their perpetrators.

I've worked with victims of some of the most notorious cults

in history from the Mooneys and Branch Dividians

to Nexium to Scientology.

you about my podcast, Indoctrination. I decided to start the show because I wanted to share

with the public the insights I've gained from decades of working with cult survivors. I created the show to help survivors tell their stories and for experts to teach us what

they know, to empower the listeners to protect themselves, and to protect those they love

from predators, toxic personalities, and destructive organizations. Since I started the podcast, I've interviewed over 200

survivors and experts and journalists who took the time to come on to cover dozens of

different high-control groups and cults from a variety of different angles. But indoctrination

isn't just another cult podcast. Rather than just covering the

salacious details of violent cult leaders, we focus on survivorship, prevention, and healing for
