Michigan comes to Chicago in Wrigley Field for a 24 to 22 win.

We knew we were still in the game. I was about to say the game never really left. I was about to say, we just have to just stay focused and get off the field. And that's what we did. Yeah, boy, I tell you what, if I had a great answer for you, now would be the time to come up with it.

And I'll try and talk my way through it.

But it's really a matter of the defense.

When you put the defense on short field and they force field goals as many times as they did early in the game.

And I mean, let's not forget.

You go back and it was 21 to 9 simply because Michigan was

able to score touchdowns, but it was the defense's ability on short fields to force field goals.

Then you get to the end of the game.

And I know that not everything was perfect because there were two drives in there, one of seven plays, 75 yards.

That's the longest drive that Northwestern had all game long, and that came in the third quarter.

Then they get the ball on the six-yard line because of the interception return.

One play, six yards.

It's another touchdown.

Now all of a sudden, Northwestern has the lead. But again, I'll go back to the defense about you force a three and out. All right. Hey, offense doesn't do anything. They turn the ball over again. It's a fumble. Then it's three and out. And on that one, it's not just three and out. It's three and out, but Northwestern offense loses eight yards. That was huge for the defense.
