It's a discussion that occurs a lot here at med geeks and we're always kind of going back and forth during the holiday season as to whether or not Bruce Willis actually starred in a holiday movie or was it just another action adventure? Now that discussion takes on a whole new role.

The actor had just recently retired from acting in March of

2022 when he had a disorder known as aphasia and then later his family had just announced

that he was diagnosed with fronto-temporal dementia, which is a group of disorders that was originally

diagnosed and classified by Arnold Pick in 1892.

Now in 1892, they didn't understand why it happened, they just classified and discovered the diagnosis it used to be called

Pix disease but we know now that frontal temporal dementia is this group of disorders caused by a

buildup of tau and other brain cell destroying proteins, specifically in the frontal lobes

as well as the temporal lobes, therefore the name frontal-temporal dementia.

What's concerning, however, is that it typically strikes patients between the ages of 45 and
