Zechariah chapter 4, verse 6.

Then he said to me,

This is the word of the Lord to Zerebabel,

not by might, nor by power,

but by my spirit, says the Lord of hosts. This may be the most well-known verse

from the book of Zechariah as, again, we talked about this in an episode on Haggai,

but God's people rebuilding the temple and facing challenges. And God says, you can't do

this by your might and you can't do this by your power, but you can do this by my spirit,

says the Lord of hosts. And that totally applies to every one of our lives today and anything God has called us to do.

Just think about John chapter 15 verse 5. Jesus says, apart from me, you can do nothing.

You just think about whatever God has called you to do today, whatever you have on your

plate today, whatever roles you are playing in your life, you cannot fulfill those roles

and responsibilities that you have in your life according to your own might, according to

your own power. not the way god has

designed you to god has designed you to live empowered by his holy spirit and he's not holding back

his spirit from you for all who trust in jesus you have his spirit and so i just want to encourage you to pray and for us to have a

chance together to pray that we would live today in the power of God's spirit, not in our own might,

not in our own power, not in our flesh, but to live in the power of the spirit God has given to us, put inside us. Oh God, we pray

that you would help us to live by the power of your spirit today. God, help us to say no,

to sin and temptation, to run from it. We pray for holiness by the power of your Holy Spirit in us. God, we pray for all that we

have on our plates today or if we're listening to this at night as we look at the next day. God,
