Well, today, friends, we're going to be digging into Romans

chapter 14 verses 5 through 6. So I encourage you to get out your Bibles and we will be getting into

that in just a moment. But before we do, I think it's time for us to pray. We need help from the

Lord to understand His word as we read it.

Lord, God, as we read this letter that was written so many years ago to a people who lived in a lifestyle and a kind of society that is so different from ours, we ask you to give us understanding.

Enable us to look at Scripture through your eyes so we can understand your heart, Lord.

In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

All right, friends, Romans 14, 5 through 6.

The Apostle Paul has just been telling us not to judge one another about issues of conscience. So issues one of us might feel very convicted about

and another person doesn't feel as convicted. We're going to continue that theme today as we read

in verse number five. He says one person esteems one day as better than another, while another

esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully

convinced in his own mind. The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord.

The one who eats eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God. While the one who abstains abstains in honor of the Lord since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains abstains

in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God. So friends, the apostle is back to this issue
