Hello, current affairs listeners. This is your legal editor, Oren Nimni. I'm here for a very special

0:05.6

episode with Erica Iderhoven, who is a candidate for Middlesex 27th for state representative in

0:13.0

Massachusetts. It happens to be the district that I live in, so I'm very excited to interview her.

0:18.3

She is the progressive candidate in the race and bringing some really good,

0:22.4

much needed, bold ideas to the Massachusetts State House. So welcome, Erica. Thanks for joining me.

0:27.3

Thank you so much for having me. Yeah, I'm really happy to have you here. I feel like when I go on my

1:09.9

in the district, well, just to just say a few

1:11.3

quick facts about my district, just is very young. I'm actually of the median age of the district

1:17.5

in terms of residence. I'm 33 years old. It is a district that is 66% tenants. So I'll just start

1:24.6

right off the bat to say, I think one of the biggest things affecting this district.

1:28.0

But in many parts of, you know, urban areas in this country is this gentrification crisis and the

1:33.2

displacement crisis.

1:34.8

It's interesting you mention that because just this week, there is a apartment building that is facing a 30% rent hike for its residents in the midst of a global pandemic, right?
