Let's be honest, some of the most shocking stories in the Bible have become all too familiar

to us.

Along the way we become indifferent about their worth.

Take the Battle of Jericho, for instance.

A bunch of guys walking around the city blasting their horns until the walls fell down, right?

While today on Insight for Living, Chuck's Wendall helps restore the profound implications

of this shocking moment.

It's a story about God's faithfulness to Israel, as well as his faithfulness to you and

me.

The Apostle Paul wrote the Romans, whatever was written in earlier times was written for

our learning that we through patience and comfort from the Scriptures might have hope.

After 15 verse 4, Paul had to have been referring to the Old Testament, what was written

in earlier times in his day would certainly have fallen to that category.

We have the pleasure of looking into one of the great chapters of the Old Testament together.

We move from chapter 2 where the people of the Hebrews promised to protect Rehab and

her family because of her willingness to hide despise who came into the land.

And then when they would invade the land, they would watch out for her safety.

We come in chapter 6 today to that time of invasion.

And what a remarkable story it is.
