I don't know if you've ever heard this before.

I don't remember where I picked it up, but there's this thing that directors are

supposed to do when an actor nails an audition, you're supposed to turn to your casting

director and you're supposed to say to them, get that person in makeup.

And it's sort of a vestige from the studio system when actors would come in and audition

and if they were great, whatever movie was shooting at the time on the lot you would just run them down into makeup hit them with a thing out powder and put them in front

of a camera right the idea being they're that good and and after piper was done i turned to my

casting director i said get her in makeup Hello, and welcome back to the Director's Cut, brought to you by the Directors Guild of America.

In this episode, a woman is terrorized by her childhood imaginary friend in director Jeff

Wadlow's mystery horror, imaginary. The film follows Jessica, whose daughter develops an

eerie attachment to a stuffed bear they find in the basement of her childhood home.

What begins as innocent games quickly becomes sinister, as they realize that the bear is much more than just a stuffed toy.

In addition to Imaginary, Wadlow's other directorial credits include the feature films The Curse of Bridge Hollow,

Fantasy Island, Truth or Dare, Kickass 2, and Cry Wolf, and episodes of the series Are You Afraid of the Dark and Agent X?

Following a screening of the film at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles, Wadlow spoke with director Ari Sandel about filming imaginary.
