At least, the value of news, the way that we currently consume it, both on screens and also through portals, through social media filters, which are tailor-made by algorithms, designed by terribly wealthy

22-year-olds with skateboards in Silicon Valley, and designed precisely to addict us.

This is not a finger-wagging, scolding conversation about how you should delete your

apps off your phone.

It's not that at all.

It's a conversation with a fascinating gentleman by the

name of Oliver Berkman. He's a Guardian writer. He's a Brit. He's from the UK. Obviously, that's what

Brits is called. It'd be funny if you were a Brit from Australia. Don't know how that would work.

Anywho, he's based in New York these days, and he has a regular online column on the intersection of social psychology

and the news. I thought, well, how perfect is that? Precisely the kind of thing I'd like to talk

about on this episode of the show. He has a, he has a column called This Column Will Change Your Life,
