Summary

Matt's had a good ol' look at Deathloop and won't stop banging on about it so we let him on the podcast despite it being his week off. Cardy has been continuing his Mass Effect journey and is joined by Joe to talk about how exciting being able to fight in Nakatomi Plaza in Warzone is. There's also three Netflix shows, Castlevania, Jupiter's Legacy and Love, Death and Robots that are recommended to varying degrees. Plus, a fantastic Chain Brain battle and of course, your feedback. One that produces vivid flashbacks to the conclusion of the fabled Sandwich Special. Remember, if you want to get in touch with the podcast, please do: [email protected].

Hello and welcome to the IGN UK podcast. I am Simon and with me this week is Joe Scrabbles.

0:14.4

Hello, how are you? Good. I am well, thank you, yes. Ty, I already said good. I don't

0:21.2

want to know. All right. I thought you were just saying you were good. Are you good? Am I

0:25.9

good? Yeah, I'm great. That's good. Matt Perslow, where are you between good and great? I'm probably

0:33.8

closer to the great. I've been off this week. I wanted to be a faddle week off. We've brought

0:38.2

back in for this. I want everyone to know that Matt's doing this on his holiday. That's how

0:43.1

committed he is to talking about. It'll all become as current. Why though? Because you can't keep

0:48.4

this boy away from me. First of all, though, if you've been keeping up with IGN this week and maybe

0:53.6

our social channels, you will have seen there's some more serious stuff going on. We're not going

0:59.0

to be speaking about that this week for numerous reasons, but just letting you know, it's not forgotten,

1:04.4

but we're just going to have a nice time here. We have an open letter on the subject. If you want

1:10.6

to catch up, you can go and read that. That is all we'll say about it during this podcast. Yes,

1:16.5

because we have got Matt Perslow here on his week off for a very specific reason. And that is

1:21.8

because Matt, Deathloop is coming. Deathloop is maybe not what people, including me, actually

1:29.2

thought it was. Why is that? It's because it's not a roguelike, which is what I think it,

1:35.7

what I sort of sort of is and isn't a roguelike, but I think it's more distinctly not a roguelike

1:40.5

than it is. So if anybody doesn't know what Deathloop is at the moment, it is a game announced in

1:47.4

2018, 2019, wasn't it? It's from Arcane to the developers of Dishonored and Prey. It's mostly the

1:53.8

Dishonored team. It's the Leon studio and it is a game in which you play a man called Cult,

1:59.8

who is stuck on a 1960s inspired island where a bunch of people are having a massive party. They

2:06.3

want to live forever. And so they've trapped the island in a time loop. Cult does not like this.

2:11.1

Cult wants to escape because inevitably it's a bit shit when you live in the same day over and over.
