There have been three words that have given my four children the greatest power over us as parents.

They have used them a number of times and even controlled outcomes in our home.

I believe they knew the power of them as they got older, and those words either got them something or even got them somewhere.

And once I knew that they knew the power and the controlling influence of these words,

it began to give me great pause many times in my conversations with them,

for I knew that they were listening and they would use it against me.

Those three words would challenge my integrity whenever I heard them. It's not just the language

of children with their parents, but I think in a good way, it's God, it's the language of God's

children that they need to learn today. In fact,

there are three words that get every parent's attention. In fact, I want to even go a little bit

deeper and say, if you want to get God to listen to your prayer, you need to learn these three

words. Here they are. Ready? But you said. How many parents have ever gone

through that? That plans have changed and things have gone on. And then you hear those words that

challenge your honesty and integrity. But you said we'd get ice cream,

but you said we would go here on this date,

but you said you'd buy me a dress,

but you said those three words,

but you said hold you captive

to keeping your word.

Think for a moment from the prayer standpoint.
