Welcome to our Rosary meditation.

I'm joined by Teresa the Great, Mason, the Militant, Cameron, the Tsar, and today we have Kipper with us.

But sadly, my Habibi left me to go to Iowa but we will persevere without her. Let's begin in the

name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

I want to especially offer this rosary for Jeannie Sherman.

And for the... for Jeannie Sherman.

And for the young woman from Lenexa,

from Holy Trinity Parish, who was shot in Waterloo, Iowa yesterday.

Our meditation today is about idols and identity. Who am I? What is my identity?

What makes my life worthwhile?

Almost everyone tries to find their identity and self-worth in the wrong things. I am included in this.

We think our identity and worth is found in our health or

success in our professions a position, something we've built, or we try to build our identity on a marriage or a spouse.

It could be that our identity and self-worth is wrapped up in our children.

It may even be a ministry that saves lives or save souls. We cannot fail to see that we even try to find our identity and our physical life.

But when we see our identity and self-worth in something,

then we have an idol. an addiction to which we are enslaved, which blocks

us from receiving God. God does not want us enslaved to idols. He wants us free to receive him.

Therefore he allows a system in which all the idols come to an end.
