I want to begin by asking you, have you, each of you, whether you're young or old, it doesn't matter,

have you sat down, whether you wrote it down or shared it with others, the purpose of your life?

What is the purpose of your life?

What do I want to accomplish?

What do you want to accomplish in life? How do you know you're accomplishing it? How do you measure success when you're reaching your goal?

I believe these are very vital questions. These are crucial questions. I pray to God whether you ate or 80 that you would sit down and answer those questions and under God that you will

follow through with this. Now there are some who see success as merely having a good job or a

flourishing career. There's nothing wrong with that, but it's got to be more to life. There are

some who say, all I want to do is to have enough money. Always my question

is, what is enough? I've never met anybody who says, oh, I got enough. But the question

remained, what is the sum total of my ambitions in life? Now, the other problem is that there are so many people who have no defined purpose. There are so many people who don't know where they're going, and therefore they don't know when they get there. It's like the man who said, if you aim at nothing, you will achieve it. You will achieve it. You'll accomplish it.

Through the years in ministry, I saw some people fail miserably. And I tell you, it is not

because they were not talented. In fact, some of these people are the most talented people I know.

But the reason they fail again and again is because they do not have a defined purpose and ambition in life.

And when you bring that to their attention, they become defensive, which remind me of the city Sl liquor who went to ride horses, and he put the saddle

backward. And a cowboy was standing there. He said to him, he said, hey, fella, you are getting your saddle

on backward, aren't you? And the defensive city's liquor said, that's what you think.

You don't know which way I'm going.

Years ago, there was a fine senator from Pennsylvania by the name of Dwight Morrow.

And he got on a train going home to Philadelphia, and the conductor asked him for the

ticket, so he began to search in a stopcoat and pockets and jacket and his trousers, and he

kept looking for the ticket. Finally, the conductor said, Senator, we know you have a ticket.
