What is in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

This is Juliet's line in Romeo and Juliet when she's telling her love Romeo that a name is nothing more than just a name and hence it is a convention with no meaning behind it.

In other words, she declares her love and tells him she loves the person who's wearing the Montague name and not the name itself or the family it comes from.

She loves the person. The question begs to wonder if a name is a name and you change your name, whether it be legally or you shorten it to a nickname,

does that change who you are?

In other words, are you a different person?

This brings up the thought experiment, the ship of Theseus which we saw in one division.

The ship of Theseus is an artifact in a museum and it's about the field of identity metaphysics.

That ship in the museum over time, its planks of

wood rot and then are replaced with new planks. Over time, as more and more of the original

wood is replaced, and none of the original planks remain.

Is it still called the ship of Theseus, or is it called something else?

In other words, when Vision talks to the ship of

the theseats, it's a good explanation. But does that mean that once

all the wood planks are changed, does its name change, and therefore is it a different identity. And when it comes to identity

there has been no greater display of different identities than in popular culture

with the movie Fight Club and now more recently with the Disney Plus

series Moon Night. If you ever watch David Fincher's 1999 movie Fight Club we see

Edward Norton was an unnamed narrator who suffers from insomnia.

He goes to support groups for the emotional catharsis and then outlet lets him sleep.

But then he encounters Marla, who's Helena Bonham Carter, who is a faker, and ruins his ability to get that emotional

catharsis. Carter also plays a death theater in Harry Potter, but then again, we can't divert
