Summary

The way you operate is like a phone. There are an endless number of things a phone can do, but most of these things require you to download a program or app. Similarly, your own abilities are limited by the “programs”, or beliefs, in your brain. You may talk about the things that you want to achieve, but if you don’t have the right beliefs there’s no way to make it happen.

In this episode, Dr. Jaffe introduces a simple exercise that you can use to start rewriting these programs and put yourself on the path to achieving your goals.

Hello everybody. Happy Monday, Dr. Adi here. So, so happy to be here with you today. I've got a quick pearl, a little gem for you here. And it's not even my own. I'm borrowing from Bruce Lipton. So I got to give props. Thank you for this, Bruce. Always, always love your work. If you haven't read his book, The Biology of Belief, just go do it right after this. Just buy it. It'll blow your mind. And here's the thing. Bruce

talks about how we normally run on autopilot and on our kind of automatic habits. And one of the

1:00.3

ways that he says it that I use over and over and over with my people and is so succinct and

1:04.4

get to the point is this. Your life, your brain, the way you operate is like a phone. And you

can want your phone and talk about wanting your phone to do anything, right? I can want my phone to go make coffee in my kitchen right now. But if I go to my phone and say, hey, hey phone, make coffee right now in my kitchen. It won't do it. Why won't it do it? It could technically, but it doesn't have a program. There's no app for that. So when I say that to my phone, it is just dumbfounded. It doesn't know what to do. And coffee is not being made upstairs in the kitchen. The same thing is true for you. You may talk about wanting to do a lot of things. You may talk about wanting to achieve and have goals and have a relationship and all this stuff. But if you have the programming in your brain to be able to make those things happen,

your brain doesn't know what to do it.

1:49.0

And the problem is that you do have programs in your brain.

1:52.0

Programs that have been there since you were one, two, three, six, ten,

15 years old and you're running on those programs constantly.

So we can want our life to change.

2:02.6

You can want your life to change. But if you don't do the work to rewrite the scripts,

2:08.4

rewrite and override and delete old programs from your brain, it'll never work.

2:14.8

The thing is we have such a hard time recognizing the apps, the programs in our head,

2:19.3

because we're being running on them for so long that they just seem like reality. So here's

2:25.2

what I want you to do today. It's Monday. The week is just starting. I want you to write out one

2:30.6

thing in your life that isn't working the way you wanted to. I hate my job and I

2:36.1

don't do well in it. I don't make enough money. I haven't found a partner that I want to spend
