Summary

As the first week of Lori Vallow Daybell’s trial comes to a close, so does the testimony of Chandler Police Detective Nathan Duncan after he shares important emails and texts from key characters in this case. The rest of the day was taken up by the testimony of Alex Cox’s widow, Zulema Pastenes, who was brought into Lori and Chad’s inner spiritual circle. Pastenes expands on Melanie Gibb’s account of the Daybell’s ministry, a fringe offshoot of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Pastenes paints a cult-like atmosphere in which Pantenes, Lori and Chad would cast demons from Charles Vallow, Tammy Daybell and others.
