All right, so welcome back to the Internet Book of Critical Care podcast. I'm here with Adam Thomas,

and we're going to talk about COVID-19 today. Josh, this is a redirect for us, isn't it? Because we

usually focus on the basics, but why have we changed? Why do you think it's important that we actually

kind of pump the brakes and refocus the project on this for now?

Unfortunately, we're going to put our standard programming with PalmC and the IBCC a bit on the back burner for now.

And we're going to be focusing on COVID primarily. And the reason for that is this is unfolding very, very rapidly.

There's tons of new information.

And I think it would be helpful to have one place where we can kind of organize the information,

try to synthesize it, pull together lots of people's thoughts, get a lot of peer review going on

and discussion, and try to get one kind of playbook potentially where folks could go if they have

questions.

And I think that's the power of the project that we're trying to say that in this day and age, creating a new community of practice online with people in multiple

countries with multiple experiences and viewpoints can get up-to-date information right away

in an open source, peer-sourced way. Exactly. Exactly. And similarly, we've started this

hashtag on Twitter, hashtag COVID-19 foam. That's one

word. And there's been some interesting stuff there already. And we'd encourage folks to use that

hashtag if you're tweeting out useful stuff. So just to say, we're not stopping doing the other chapters,

but we're going to refocus our tensions on COVID for now. And what we say today is probably going to

be wrong in a couple

days. But I do give Josh full credit. He has been lost in a deep, dark COVID hole for two weeks,

and he's finally emerged. He's crushed it's ugly. Hundreds of abstraction papers and tried to

synthesize things. And we've sent this out for peer review before we even podcasted to try to get
