Unfortunately, Vince, we have to start today's show with some very sad news, breaking news that happened just within what probably 30 or 40 minutes of the show starting tonight.

We got the official announcement from Notre Dame today that legendary former Notre Dame football

coach Lou Holtz has passed away at the age of 89.

And again, this came from Notre Dame.

So this is not, you know, there were, I think one of the real unfortunate things with this whole situation is what, maybe three, four weeks ago.

I guess it's been more than that.

It was late January, so it's been a little bit more than a month ago. There was all this.

There were false reports of.

Yeah, lots of them. Yes, the reports of his demise were literally greatly exaggerated.

And he battled, he kept battling, which, you know, is kind of what you would expect from someone like Lou

Holtz. And unfortunately, Lou Holtz's family announced today in Notre Dame. The University

of Notre Dame also announced today that Lou Holtz passed away at the age of 89 after spending

the last few weeks in hospice care. Holtz, of course, won nearly 250 games.

249 as a college football head coach.

100 of those wins came at Notre Dame between 1986 and

1986.
