I woke up to an emergency alert at 6 a.m. this morning on my phone.

Checking my phone, the alert read,

and go indoors immediately and remain inside.

I wait for their instructions.

After living here for almost 10 years, I've only ever received a handful of emergency alerts

which all presented themselves as tests

for the emergency alert system. Generally,

generally I live my life pretty freely and I don't take life few seriously.

Unfortunately for me, this means I'm not the type of person who prepares for the worst to happen.
