Summary

Brad Beeler spent 25 years in the U.S. Secret Service, working some of the most intense investigations in the country while also protecting presidents and high-profile targets. In this episode, Brad breaks down the truth about lie detector tests, what polygraphs actually measure, and how investigators use them to secure confessions. He shares real interrogation tactics, how agents read behavior and spot deception, and the psychological techniques used to get suspects to talk. We also dive into counterfeit money cases—how fake bills are detected, tracked, and tied back to criminals—and what really goes on behind the scenes in these federal investigations. _____________________________________________ #SecretService #LieDetector #Polygraph #Interrogation #TrueCrime #FederalAgent #CrimeInvestigation #LawEnforcement _____________________________________________ Connect with Brad Beeler: https://bradleybeeler.com/ _____________________________________________ Hosted, Executive Produced & Edited By Ian Bick: https://www.instagram.com/ian_bick/?hl=en https://ianbick.com/ _____________________________________________ Shop Locked In Merch: http://www.ianbick.com/shop _____________________________________________ Timestamps: 00:00 Inside Interrogation & Secret Service Secrets (Full Story) 02:44 Early Life & Becoming a Federal Agent 06:06 Secret Service Internship: Behind the Scenes 10:31 Polygraph Tests & Interrogation Techniques 17:59 Detecting Lies: Psychology & Deception 26:16 Body Language, Rapport & Getting Confessions 31:19 Crime, Morality & Decision Making 39:30 Inside the Secret Service: Protective Details 47:07 Real Cases & Career Stories 55:05 Counterfeiting Crimes & Major Takedowns 01:06:18 Trauma, Stress & Life in Federal Law Enforcement 01:13:13 Coping with Trauma & Agency Culture 01:18:24 Modern Interrogation & Confession Tactics 01:22:01 Career Reflections & Final Lessons _____________________________________________ To advertise on the show, contact sales@advertisecast.com or visit https://advertising.libsyn.com/LockedInWithIanBicka Learn more about your ad choices. I grew up in Union, Missouri, of all places, about an hour west of St. Louis, small town

1:39.6

America. Very similar to the town here. But yeah, very small town in the Midwest. What was your upbringing like?

2:14.7

So I think I kind of grew up in that environment, so that's what made me want to be the person with the white hat, I think. How would you have described yourself?
