Look, you ever see what happens when a deer darts in front of a semi on a dark highway?

There's a split second of disbelief, then impact, violent, sudden, irreversible.

That's America right now. We are that deer, and the semi-barreling down the road is a government steamrolling its way through decency, through empathy, and basic common sense.

Let's start with the juggernaut, the one big beautiful bill.

Now, on the surface, it sounds like a bipartisan breakthrough or some sweeping infrastructure package.

But dig deeper, and you'll find something far less inspiring.

Steep Medicaid cuts, deep spending on deportation operations, and a whopping multi-trillion dollar

price tag that defies every principle of fiscal responsibility. So therefore, it's not beautiful. It is brutal. This bill doesn't just

slash programs. It sends a message that caring for the sick, the elderly, the working poor,

is optional. That health care is a privilege, not a right. That if you're vulnerable, you're expendable.

And while some lawmakers defend it as necessary belt tightening,

the truth is, the belt is only tightening around the necks of those who already can't breathe.

Meanwhile, in a place that could only be Florida, the administration is proudly unveiling

what's been dubbed alligator alcatraz, a makeshift migrant detention facility dropped in the

middle of the Everglades. I want you to think about that. We are putting human beings in a

swamp land surrounded by alligators and pythons

and worse, we're calling it justice. So if that sounds like something out of a dystopian novel,

it's not fiction, it's policy. And the justification that the worst of the worst are being held there.
